This bungalow kitchen had limited counter space, a refrigerator tucked into a dark niche and no space for the family to gather around a table. An adjacent original porch had been finished out with drywall and acoustic ceiling but was unusable for a large part of the year due to poor insulation. By uniting the two spaces, properly insulating the porch and adjusting an adjacent guestroom closet, Liska Architects created a space that will provide the family with an eat-in porch with desk space that will be usable year round and a kitchen with ample work space that is visually connected to the eating area for entertaining.
