While working at the nationally recognized architectural firm of Stuart Cohen & Julie Hacker, Architects, Liska Architects’ senior designer, Steve Liska was intricate in the creation of this new home in one of Chicago’s northern suburbs.  The home is built to Energy Star rating requirements and includes many energy saving features.  A reflective roof reduces the cooling load in the summer and careful planning of circulation allowed the reduction of square footage, thus the need to heat additional space in the winter.  The team collaborated with Informed Energy Decisions to detail insulation and HVAC equipment and ductwork for proper installations in this ‘green’ home.
