Steve Liska is the residential design expert for the firm. During his extensive experience working with clients to create designs for both new and renovated homes he has developed the skill to translate families’ needs and desires for their living space into environments that reflect their personalities and aesthetically enhance their daily lives. Steve combines his understanding of the construction process, his close relationship with his clients and his ability to work as a team with contractors to keep the project moving smoothly.
Since moving to Chicago from his hometown of Milwaukee, Steve has worked for the Evanston based firm of Stephen Knutson, Architect and the award-winning firm of Cohen & Hacker Architects where he developed strong skills in the fine detailing required for high-end traditionally styled residences. Many of those residences have been featured in both local and national publications.
Steve is enthusiastic about reducing the energy consumption of homes and has completed many projects incorporating green technology including EnergyStar and LEED certified homes, creating designs that are both traditional in style and sustainable in nature.
His free time is spent restoring his own historic bungalow and the hands-on experience has provided insight that is invaluable to creating designs that reduce energy usage and are cost effective.
When not busy with assisting others to create their dream homes or restoring his own home, Steve enjoys scuba diving, biking, cooking and crafting his own home brews. His experience with diving has given him insight into the complexity of the environment and he shares his enthusiasm for locally crafted quality products with his fellow brewers through the ‘Square Kegs’ organization of the Lincoln Square Chamber of Commerce.
